Hiking in Puster valley
Our landscape and mountain experiense –
full of power, beauty and energy.
"The mountains give us back plenty of what we are steadily losing.
They give us peace and contentment."
(Hugo Wassermann)
We are enthusiastic hikers ourselves and will be pleased to help you make your selection from the numerous hikes, mountain excursions and via ferrata routes. Maps can be borrowed from the hotel free of charge. There are hundreds of hiking routes to choose from in the local area. (By local area we mean within a radius of around 45 minutes by car.)
In addition to the Rieserferner Nature Reserve, this includes the Sexten Dolomites, the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Reserve, the Gsieser Mountains and the Karnischer Kamm.
For every hiking trip we recommend that you take good mountain / hiking boots, protection from the rain, a light rucksack and provisions.
If you are going climbing, then a good head for heights and the right equipment, such as a helmet and harness with a karabiner are essential.
Our two sons, Simon and Johannes, are experienced climbers and can pass on detailed information about the different climbing routes. We hope you have lots of fun whilst hiking and will, of course, be pleased to be of assistance if you have any questions or queries.
